Officer Down

ODMPI was reading all the vitriol regarding police officer shootings on websites like this one Nobody Knows How Many Americans The Police Kill Each Year.

This site reported an FBI estimate the number of police homicides per year at around 400. This site is hoping to get the public’s help We’re Compiling Every Police-Involved Shooting In America. Help Us. A potentially more reliable site just reports police officer shootings, whether or not deemed justifiable, Killed by Police.

There are plenty of these sites looking for bad cops.  Not so many, expounding the virtues of good cops.

I am more interested in determining how many police officers actually have lost their lives in the line of duty.  I found this site to be an excellent and reliable source with great detail and presented in a caring, highly professional manner Officer Down Memorial Page.  What it didn’t have was a quick snapshot of officer and K9 deaths summarized by year.  I listed some of the more violent categories and lumped the rest, like heart attacks, not to be taken lightly, under Other.  You can draw your own conclusions but serving your community as a police office is a dangerous profession.  God bless the men in Blue!

In Life, the Most Important Decisions Are Made Alone.

It’s easier to make the tough decisions if you know someone has your back. Loyalty is earned, not deserved.

We are experience!

My experience from a flailing and fledgling salesperson to the owner and CEO of a successful software company, the most important decisions you make, you make alone.

I’m not a life coach.  I’m not a marketing guru. I’m not a motivational speaker or social media guru.

I have nothing to gain by sharing my personal experiences, so I will spare you any hype. I just want to reinforce my own beliefs, that people can make a difference, if they are willing to open their minds and hearts, without prejudice.

Whether you are a family man or woman, a CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation, if people depend on you for guidance, you are held accountable for the success or failure of others.  Therefore, you have to make decisions that affect other people for better or for worse. That is my definition of a leader, plain and simple.  You don’t have to be Bill Gates to shine or suck. Worse, you probably have less to gain by making the tough decisions, at least from a monetary perspective.

Others will pontificate as to what a leader is, what a leader must do and how a leader must act.  I don’t have time for all that and if you’re like me, neither do you.  The best way to describe how to deal with your life’s biggest challenges is to rely on your past experiences and your gut. Do something!

When it comes to crunch time, a leader must decide on their own and act accordingly.  You’ll no doubt, get plenty of advice, but no one is going to know better than you, what to do.  So there is nowhere to turn.  Ultimately you are the most qualified to make a decision that affects you and your loved ones.

You must make the most important decisions in your life, and make those decisions on your own.  Sorry Doctor Phil.  This isn’t a TV show.  This is real life.  The same holds true in business.

When the time comes no one wants to make the important decisions for you.  Don’t get me wrong.  You will get plenty of advice.  “If I were you…” “You should…”  “You could…” “You might…” Later on, after the decision has been made, you will summarily receive the same words, only in different context.  “If it were me…” “I would have…”  I could have…”  “I would have…

I am sure you have heard these expressions as well, “It is lonely at the top.”  It matters less your stature in life.  It matter most, the decisions you make based on the challenges you face.  Trust me, from a person of experience, the most difficult decisions you have ever made and the most important decisions you will ever make, will be your decisions alone.

We are experience.  Small business owners are the lifeblood of free enterprise. Their heart is still beating.  Their soul is intact.  They epitomize what comprises the backbone of our country.  They are the chief cook and bottle washers; the real risk takers.  Small business owners are essential to the future success of the US economy.

Small business owners are the spine that stands up and remains strong in the face of diversity, against ever increasing government regulations, against subsidies to big union, subsidies to big businesses and big government.  Small businesses must prevail if we are to remain strong and maintain our leadership position in the world economy.

We need to lift our voice above the fray.  We need to unite. We need to be heard, above the voices of the mainstream media, the politicians, above the voices of divisiveness and hate, above the voices of fear and doubt. It is time to come together.  The future is now.  The future is no longer an individual choice and your choice alone.  We need to unite. Let’s make some noise.  Let’s take a stand.  What are you doing to preserve the American dream?  Email me: ideacapiltalists@gmail.com

Bill Gates Says The Cost Of Switching To Wind And Solar Would Be “Beyond Astronomical”

Bill Gates says renewables are rubbish.

Bill Gates says renewables are rubbish.

Finally! Someone with some serious creds behind him talks common sense solutions!

Retired software kingpin and richest man in the world Bill Gates says today’s renewable-energy technologies aren’t a viable solution for reducing CO2 levels, and governments should divert green subsidies into R&D aimed at better answers.

Here is Obama’s GREENTECH FAIL list WHICH HAS LAID WASTE ON TAXPAYER DOLLARS!!!

Real Science

Bill Gates points out that wide scale wind and solar energy are a farce, and that people who claim it isn’t have no idea what they are talking about.

Retired software kingpin and richest man in the world Bill Gates says today’s renewable-energy technologies aren’t a viable solution for reducing CO2 levels, and governments should divert green subsidies into R&D aimed at better answers.

Gates expressed his views in an interview given to the Financial Times yesterday, saying that the cost of using current renewables such as solar panels and windfarms to produce all or most power would be “beyond astronomical”. At present very little power comes from renewables: in the UK just 5.2 per cent, the majority of which is dubiously-green biofuel burning1 rather than renewable ‘leccy – and even so, energy bills have surged and will surge further as a result.

In Bill Gates’ view, the answer is for governments to divert the…

What Do Career Politicians, Professors and Community Organizers Have In Common?

I35W-Bridge-Collapse

When it comes to politics, they think voters are stupid, don’t have time to question their lies, or don’t care!

Why else would career politician, Hillary Clinton, Professor Elizabeth Warren repeat, and community organizer a.k.a., Entreprenever and chief, Barack Obama’s well worn rhetoric, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” referring to private businesses being dependent of big government.

We have a problem and it is a corrupt government and a complicit mainstream media.  Who has time to fact check all the lies we hear every day courtesy of the Obama administration and echoed by the media? Take as an example the huge waste in billions of stimulus dollars Obama spent as payback for getting him elected.

So how is it possible that big government can provide corporations and businesses with the vehicle to succeed? I decided to look on the popular website HowStuffWorks.com to see if they agreed with liberals. This is an excerpt: In 2009, Community Organizer and President Obama’s government spent a staggering $3.5 trillion dollars and raised $2.1 trillion in individual and corporate taxes — still leaving a budget deficit of more than a trillion dollars.

The Government doesn’t earn money!  “Government Funded”, “Government Subsidized”, “Government Money”, “Government Grant” … all mean “TAXPAYER FUNDED”, “TAXPAYER SUBSIDIZED”, “TAXPAYER MONEY”, or “TAXPAYER GRANT”. They’re all money from YOUR pocket.  Conclusion: The Government spends money!   Currently we are spending or speeding our way toward $18 trillion in debt.

In fact, 55% of all tax dollars come from small business that are spent on government programs, including infrastructure, roads and bridges.  When a small business person fills up at the pump, on average, we pay almost 50 cents per gallon to the government for taxes on gasoline, approximately 13 cents on every dollar.   Add toll roads to the equation and in many parts of the country the cost to taxpayers for infrastructure goes up.

“To say what he (Obama) said is to say that Steve Jobs didn’t build Apple Computer or that Bill Gates didn’t build Microsoft or that Henry Ford didn’t build Ford Motor Company or that Ray Kroc didn’t build McDonald’s or that Papa John’s didn’t build Papa John’s Pizza. This is the height of foolishness. It shows how out of touch he is with the character of America. It’s one more reason his policies have failed. It’s one more reason why we have to replace him in November.”  Mitt Romney.

Even the Washington Post gave the “You didn’t build that…” liberal nonsense credence, giving him 3 Pinocchio’s.

Here’s what Charles Krauthammer had to say, “The argument between left and right is about what you do beyond infrastructure. It’s about transfer payments and redistributionist taxation, about geometrically expanding entitlements, about tax breaks and subsidies to induce actions pleasing to central planners. It’s about free contraceptives for privileged students and welfare without work — the latest Obama entitlement-by-decree that would fatally undermine the great bipartisan welfare reform of 1996. It’s about endless government handouts that, ironically, are crowding out necessary spending on, yes, infrastructure.”

Professor Elizabeth Warren has never worked in the private sector.  She is my favorite definition of a politician, unemployed and unemployable.  What she fails to say is businesses pay the lion share of the taxes so everyone in this country can enjoy our roads and bridges, including Elizabeth Warren with her progressive anti-business rhetoric.

Enter career politician Hillary Clinton.  There is and there will be hundreds of thousands, if not millions of interviews, videos, news articles, and blogs, written about Clinton, but most assuredly the one she is going to have to walk back more often than most, is this video above about federally mandated minimum wage jobs, and about businesses and technology not being the engine of the US economy and jobs.

After all, The Race Against The Machines has already been lost.  There will be no minimum wage jobs in the future.  People who know how to use a caulk gun will be highly paid by those who do can’t pound a nail.

My prediction is that Hillary Clinton will be pounded back into the stone age by 2016. There will be a 3rd generation POTUS in 2016, like US Senator Marco Rubio, who knows how to use a smartphone. More on this when somebody is ready to listen.

A former White House science advisor speaks out about “settled science”

stossel beach.1.583 (1) houseCelebrities are afraid their Taj Ma-hall homes will slide int the ocean.  Hollywood personalities and the mainstream media monopolized every avenue of opportunity to get Barrack Obama elected and their global warming agenda imposed on the public through every media outlet available.

“Rigidly promulgating the idea that climate science is ‘settled’ (or is a ‘hoax’) demeans and chills the scientific enterprise, retarding its progress in these important matters. Uncertainty is a prime mover and motivator of science and must be faced head-on. It should not be confined to hushed sidebar conversations at academic conferences.”  Computational physicist Steven E. Koonin*, Director of the Center for Urban Science and Progress at New York University.  *Formerly undersecretary for science in the Energy Department during President Barack Obama’s first term, professor of theoretical physics and provost at Caltech, and chief scientist of BP.

Freedom of speech is precious.  Paid for by the blood of hundreds of thousands of brave fighting men and women and a country of people who believe in truly democratic society, freedom is priceless.  Unfortunately freedom of speech has been compromised and severely curtailed due to lack of media coverage and unfair public commentary from over-zealous celebrity sound bites.  Their man-made climate change agenda (claims) paid for by influence peddlers.

Real people look up to people they have invited into their hearts and into their living rooms. The media outlets represent a modern-day, overwhelmingly effective form of communication and persuasion.  For this reason, as a person of influence, the mainstream media and celebrities should hold themselves to a higher standard, both in temperament and by example.  As people of influence and public figures, they’re responsible for their words and their actions in public.  For that very reason, there should be a real debate over the science of global warming, not a simple consensus of like minded liberals, the mainstream media and the Obama Administration and EPA.  News Flash! Man-made climate change is not settled! Read more below…

Climate Science Is Not Settled

We are very far from the knowledge needed to make good climate policy, writes leading scientist Steven E. Koonin

The idea that “Climate science is settled” runs through today’s popular and policy discussions. Unfortunately, that claim is misguided. It has not only distorted our public and policy debates on issues related to energy, greenhouse-gas emissions and the environment. But it also has inhibited the scientific and policy discussions that we need to have about our climate future.

My training as a computational physicist—together with a 40-year career of scientific research, advising and management in academia, government and the private sector—has afforded me an extended, up-close perspective on climate science. Detailed technical discussions during the past year with leading climate scientists have given me an even better sense of what we know, and don’t know, about…
